For me i have a few..It would be Mickie Mantle day at Yankee stadium years ago..The second would be hanging out at OTB in New york city..I recall so many crazy days doing that..I would visit the porn shops on 42nd st..Hell,25 cents and that doors opens!!!! Then go to OTB and bet on those ponys..If i won a few bucks i would go to play the harness tracks at night..I think of all the fond memories i have is the visits to Belmont park....Owe what a racetrack that is..The grandstand starts at the top of the stretch, and ends at the clubhouse turn..

Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, baseball in Baltimore in the late 70`s early 80`s was about as good as it could get....

The teams were always competetive, the stadium itself wasn`t the greatest but there was magic in that stadium!

Johnny Unitas and Brooks Robinson played there!

The Orioles were always winning in come from behind fashion....There was just a great ambience about that whole time period...Thank goodness I wasn`t raised at the "whine n cheese" Camden Yards

My favorite road park is Yankee Stadium of course!

I wouldn`t trade Memorial Stadium for shiny brand spanking new Camden Yards any day!

Fabulous Forum in Inglewood, much better than staples center. Also Rosebowl, the Granddaddy of them all.

When I was playing varsity football we partied one night all night and than went to a class "love" it was a religion class first semester, and than second semester was 'Death". Basil fell asleep at his desk, and than rolled onto the floor sleeping and snoring for the rest of the class, later on that month we went to the BiG O(olympic Stadium), and watched the expos play the Detroit tigers/

Hairybum:

That's not a Saint Mary's University story, is it? The courses and "Basil" sound familiar ??

Yep - I know him a little bit. The last time I was talking to him was the Vanier Cup last fall (or maybe is was the one before that, time goes by so damn fast).

It has to be the same one you know - about 5 feet high and 3 feet wide

Fenway Park- I remember riding on the subway with my uncle and getting off at Kenmore Square and seeing the lights at Fenway as soon as you climbed up the stairs from the subway platform. Bleacher seats were $1.25 and sold day of game only. You lined up right under the screen that's on top of the Green Monster. Fenway Park is a total dump. Lousy access, terrible sight lines and ready for a demolition. But some great memories for me.

Suffolk Downs- The ultimate dive race track located in East Boston. I remember taking the Blue Line subway to get there. I made my first bet there when I was 14. The mutual clerk asked me how old I was and I told him 18. I could barely see over the counter but they didn't care as long as you had the cash. What a grungy place. I loved it.

Hartford Jai Alai- I used to hitch hike to the Hartford Fronton. The game was so crooked that it made the NBA look legitimate but it was fun to watch and you had tons of ways to be in action. They bulldozed the place some time ago but I had some good times in that place.

As a kid through my teens, we spent every summer camping near a small race track that had a one weekend a year race meet.
It was called Harbor Park. We camped on a lake, hiked, fished, and studied the races!
We always did well there, because we go to know the horses from other cheap tracks, and some of them would only run once a year!!!

It was great though. It was always great to see a big favorite from some big track come in and go to the outside rail on the tight turns of the track.
The people were awesome. You could walk through the stalls, look at the horses, go where ever you wanted.
Unfortunately, the track closed down 1 year after Longacres shut down. There just weren't enough crappy horses around to sustain it until the opening of Emerald Downs... ;(
